What happens to your data.

Who

What gets processed

1. Bookings via Cal.com. If you book a free check, that runs through Cal.com. Your name, email address and your answers to the questions in the booking form are processed by Cal.com (Cal.com, Inc., United States) to record the appointment and send you a confirmation. Legal basis: taking pre-contractual steps at your request, since you request the conversation yourself. The calendar loads automatically as you approach the bottom of the homepage; from that moment Cal.com sets its own cookies. So that happens before you fill anything in. If you want to avoid it entirely, get in touch by email, WhatsApp or phone instead of scrolling to the bottom of the homepage.
2. Statistics. The site keeps anonymised visitor statistics via Umami (Umami Software, Inc.), and measures loading performance via Vercel Speed Insights (Vercel Inc.). Both work without cookies, and I cannot tell from them who you are. Besides page visits I also count a few actions on the page: which button you click to book an appointment, whether you click the phone number, WhatsApp or an email address, and whether a booking was completed. I cannot see who did so. They are counts, not profiles, and they are not linked to your name or your booking. Legal basis: legitimate interest, namely knowing whether the site works and gets found. No ad tracking, no selling of data.
3. Contact. If you get in touch by email, WhatsApp or phone, I keep those messages so I can help you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering your question. If you message me, that runs through WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) under their own terms; if you'd rather not, email or call instead.
4. Hosting. This site runs on Vercel Inc. Server logs including your IP address are kept there briefly for security and for resolving outages.
5. Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.). In doing so Google sees your IP address and browser details, even if you do nothing else on the site. I want to change that by hosting the fonts myself; until then, you're hearing it here honestly.

How long

Email and messages I keep until roughly two years after our last contact, so I know what we talked about if you come back. Bookings live in Cal.com and I clean them up there in the same rhythm. If it turns into an assignment, the Dutch statutory retention period of seven years applies to the records. Want your data gone sooner? Ask, and I'll delete whatever the law allows.

Transfers outside the EU

Cal.com, Umami, Vercel, Google and Meta are American companies, or belong to an American group. For those transfers they rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Beyond these parties I share nothing with third parties, and I never sell data.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and transfer your data, to restrict processing, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Send a message to jordy@optna.com and I'll take care of it. You'll usually hear from me within five working days, and in any case within the statutory period of one month. If a request is complex, that period may be extended by two months; I'll let you know in time if so.

If we can't resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Cookies

No cookie banner. The statistics above are cookieless, and to the best of my knowledge no consent is required for them. One exception: the Cal.com calendar at the bottom of the homepage does set its own cookies as soon as it loads. Use email, WhatsApp or phone if you'd rather avoid that. I'm not happy with that exception and want the calendar to load only once you click it yourself; that's on the list.
