Will I end up locked in to you?
No. You get your own code and documentation, built on common, open technology — not a sealed-up system only I can maintain. You're free to move on to someone else whenever you like. I want to keep you as a client because you're happy, not because you can't leave.
Who maintains it, and what if you're no longer around?
A fair question when you're working with one specialist instead of an agency. That's exactly why I write maintainable, documented code, so another developer can pick it up if it ever comes to that. And for continuity, we agree clearly up front on maintenance and on your access to everything that's yours.
